With its colorful appearance, the Stemmer windmill is a pretty sight on the northern outskirts of Minden. The colors white, green and yellow of the wind rose represent the colors of the village Stemmer. The additional drawing wheel and the and the rods of the louvre blades, which have been wind-operated again since 1997, are painted in bright red. The active mill operation was shut down in 1972. Restoration of the mill began in 1983 by the Stemmer cultural community, and the result was the colorful wind rose and the bright red windmill rods. With this colorful appearance, it is a real specialty in the Mühlenkreis.
