Maschmeyers Windmühle Holzhausen a.d. Porta

In Holzhausen at the Porta, directly opposite "vom Wilhelm", stands Maschmeier's mill since the beginning of the 19th century. At this exposed place stood already around 1740 a royal posst mill. The tower, made of quarry stone and plastered, is strongly conical in shape. The active mill operation was abandoned shortly after the Second World War and the mill was closed down. That the mill presents itself in its present immaculate form is a merit of the mill group Holzhausen.

Bread and cakes are baked for visitors in the old bakehouse on milling and baking days. A new mill house is available to take care of guests, and civil weddings are possible at this quaint Westphalian location. From here the view goes over the Weser valley to the KW monument on the Wiehengebirge. The mill friend likes to linger at this special place and enjoy the picturesque surroundings.
