Heinrich Klöpper, called Valentin, first had a water mill built on this site, but later had to abandon it due to lack of water. The earth bollard with three grinding gears was built in 1858. The mill was operated by the family until 1875, after which it was leased out until 1934 and used only for its own needs until milling ceased at the end of the 1960s. Years of decay followed until April 1, 1987, when a local newspaper, the "Mindener Tageblatt", allowed itself an April Fool's joke and published a drawing showing the complete hood and wings. An idea was born: Active citizens and mill friends founded a mill group.
A short time later, the mill was included in the mill preservation program. Today, the mill is once again a well-maintained mill and can be visited. The mill is located in the district of Todtenhausen directly on the B 61. Visitors traveling north on the B 61 reach the Büschingsche Windmühle in Petershagen as the next mill.
