The Dutchman's windmill with its original octagonal shingled tower was built in 1802. In 1908, a two-story brick building was erected not far from the mill wall to accommodate a motorized grinding operation. The locomobile, which initially served as the drive, was replaced by a glow-head motor in 1929 and later, following technical developments, by an electric motor. In the 1950s, the motorized grinding operation was expanded once again, but then the windmill operation was abandoned altogether. The mill is still owned by the family, and in 1971, after the death of the last employed miller, Möhring, the commercial operation was abandoned. The motorized mill remained in operation until 1990 for the mill's own needs. The mill can be visited by appointment. A visit is worthwhile, since the mill has to offer some structural-technical peculiarities. The mill group participates in the grinding and baking program. Visitors arriving via the L 770 take the Lahde exit after the Weser bridge, cross the lock canal and the B 482, into Nienburger Straße, Bahnhofstraße in the direction of Bierderloh. The "Landartroute" leads directly past the mill.
