The water mill Eilhausen is the last of its kind of the past numerous water mills on the northern slope of the Wiehengebirge. According to documents of the Reineberg office from 1646, the mill belonged to the farm of the "Meyer zu Eilhausen". It is located directly on the B 65 at the end of Eilhausen when driving towards Nettelstedt. The top-shafted water wheel with a diameter of 2.6 m, which almost disappears in the deep water box, is fed from the mill pond above. The mill house, a half-timbered quarry stone building, was erected around 1700. The equipment, a grist mill and a grinding mill, was in operation until the time of the Second World War.
