The windmill Veltheim was built in 1903. It stands as Dutchman's windmill visible from afar in the Weser floodplain between Eisbergen and Veltheim. The plastered brick tower has received in the course of restoration a new hood with sail wings and a non-functioning wind rose. A stone earthen bollard was erected here as early as 1870 to replace a wooden windmill. The new mill was so burnt out after a lightning strike that it had to be demolished. In 1903 the mill received a cast-iron wing shaft with iron comb wheel and bunker. The mill ceased to operate in 1963, but continued to grind for its own needs.
